With the 10th Woolwich Carnival approaching on Saturday, 13th September, we’re excited to invite you and your family to our FREE neuro-friendly community workshops to help everyone get carnival ready!

CREATE AND CELEBRATE – Neuro-Friendly Workshops Open to ages 6+ and their families

Join Charlton Community Champions for a series of creative workshops as we get ready to celebrate at the Woolwich Carnival together!

Community Drop-in Sessions:

  • Dancing Workshop – Monday 9th September, 4-5pm, Valiant House
  • Carnival Crafts – Tuesday 10th September, 4-6pm, Charlton Family Centre
  • Dancing Workshop – Wednesday 11th September, 4-5pm, Valiant House
  • Drumming Workshop – Wednesday 11th September, 5-6pm, Valiant House

What We Offer:

  • A welcoming space for neurodivergent children and their families
  • Quiet zone available for sensory breaks
  • Flexible participation – join in as much or as little as feels comfortable
  • All materials and instruments provided
  • Experienced, understanding workshop leaders

Workshop Activities:

  • Learn carnival dance moves and rhythms
  • Create colorful carnival crafts and decorations
  • Practice drumming beats for the parade
  • Meet other families in a supportive environment
  • Build confidence for carnival day

Join Us at the Carnival! After the workshops, be part of our community parade and enjoy a FREE community meal! Also need volunteers to join us at the Stall and games area, the Sensory Space and for setting up from 11am-12prm and pack down 5-6pm. 

Carnival Day Details:

  • Date: Saturday 13th September
  • Parade Meeting Point: 1pm at the CCCC Stall, General Gordon Square, Woolwich SE18 6HD
  • Look for: The Bell Tent to find us!
  • What’s Included: Community parade participation + FREE meal afterwards
